Cat Janiga, Toronto native, has had a love affair with design and sculpting her entire life. During her early years in high school she began silversmithing, as her love for art and form evolved into a passion for design and fashion. In the decade since, she's honed that passion into skill. She graduated from OCAD University's Material Art and Design program, majoring in Jewellery and Silversmithing. She also worked as a top designer and production manager for Dean Davidson, one of Canada’s leading contemporary fashion jewellery designers.
Cat frequently travels to Europe for classical influences and modern inspiration. Inspired by the world around her, she is greatly influenced by architecture and the various forms and functions in nature. Her work has strong geometric themes paired with clean lines, giving her creations a modern architectural and sculptural feel. Cat creates avant-garde jewellery for the modern woman; she fervently believes that jewellery should be an extension of the wearer, enhancing their form but not over powering it.
